Protaras Trees are symbolic almost – here in this popular resort of Protaras we have the most popular and frequented of all the beaches of Protaras resort, is a long and sandy beach studded with umbrellas and served by a variety of water sports. This beach is the most popular within Protaras Beach. The British christened it "Fig Tree Bay" and the name was given after the single fig tree that stands guard back from the beach and is claimed to have been brought from the east in the 17 th century.
Another enigmatic tree is at the Ayios Elias church on top of the rocks. It is a tree of remembrance at the top. You can take a ribbon and tie it to the tree in remembrance of something special. If you go up early for sunrise or later for sunset you will have a spectacular view over the sea as the sky and sea pain wonderful colours.
